Flight Training Equipment

Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATDs)

ALSIM

  • The School operates one Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) certified by the FAA. The School has an AATD from ALSIM model ALX (see for more information click on www.alsim.com). Our AATD is available for the required and authorized pilot training operations. According to FAA AC-120-45A, as amended, the FTDs meet the requirements as listed in FAR 141.41(b) (1), (2) and (3).
  • Private Pilot Training in an AATD that meets the above requirements may be credited for a maximum of 15% of the total flight training hours requirement, or 5.25 hours of the approved course as prescribed under FAR 141, Appendix B 4. (c)(3).
  • Instrument Training in an AATD that meets the above requirements may be credited for a maximum of 40% of the total flight training hours requirement, or 14.0 hours of the approved course as prescribed under FAR 141, Appendix C .4. (b)(3).
  • Commercial single-engine course Training in an AATD that meets the above requirements may be credited for a maximum of 20% of the total flight training hours requirement, or 24.0 hours of the approved course as prescribed under FAR 141, Appendix D 4. (c)(3).
